Rainer: A Name with History and Substance
When we hear the name Rainer, we often think of reliability and down-to-earth professionalism—but its roots are anything but ordinary. The name originates from the Old High German Raginhari, a powerful combination of ragin (counsel or advice) and hari (army). Historically speaking, a "Rainer" is nothing less than the "Counselor of the Army"—a strategist who maintains the big picture. Over the centuries, the name has produced many charming international variations: from the sophisticated Rainier (famously associated with the Princely House of Monaco) to the English Rayner or Ray, the Nordic Ragnar or the Italian Rainieri.
